This soft and fluffy Homemade Pita Bread is scrumptious and way better than the store bought Pita Bread!

Ingredients

    Khameer (Instant yeast) 1 & ½ tsp

    Brown sugar powdered 1 tsp
  • Image
    Chakki ka aata (Whole wheat flour) sifted 1 Cup

    Maida (All-purpose flour) sifted ½ Cup
  • Image
    Salt ½ tsp
  • Image
    Olive oil 1 tbs
  • Filling

    chopped  Onion ½ Cup
  • Image
    chopped Ginger garlic 1 tbs
  • Image
    chopped Green Chillies 1 tsp

    Chopped vegetables (as per your taste)

    Crushed Black pepper 1 tsp

    Salt ½ tsp or to taste

Method

  • For Whole Wheat Pita Bread

  • Image
    In lukewarm water,add instant yeast,brown sugar and mix well,cover and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Image
    In bowl,add whole wheat flour,all-purpose flour,salt and mix well.
  • Image
    Add olive oil and mix well.
  • Image
    Add yeast mixture and mix well.
  • Image
    Gradually add lukewarm water and knead until dough is formed.
  • Image
    Option 1: Heat griddle and place pita,cook on low flame from both sides.
  • Image
    Option 2: Place pita breda on baking tray and bake in preheated oven at 230 C for 5-6 minutes.

    In frying pan,add olive oil and onion,mix well.
  • Image
    Add ginger garlic crushed and mix well.
  • Image
    Add green chilies and vegetables,mix well and cook until changes color.
  • Image
    Add black pepper crushed and salt,mix & cook until done.

    Add fresh coriander & set aside.
  • Tomato Salsa

    In bowl,add tomatoes,onion,fresh coriander,cumin seeds,black pepper crushed,green chilies,lemon juice and salt,mix well & set aside.
  • Yogurt Dip

  • Image
    In bowl,add yogurt,black pepper crushed,garlic,green chilies,fresh coriander and salt and whisk well.
  • Assembling

    Cut pita bread from the center,stuffed with cooked mince filling,ice berg,tomato salsa,yogurt dip & serve.
